Hummingbird 05:23

This evening, it's grand It's miraculous but sad, 'cause I can't get there from here And the shuttle that you ride I could have sworn it just went by, I think I'll Have another beer But I won't cry about you baby And I won't howl at the moon But I might just stay awake, watch it Sink into the lake, and maybe Wish that you were here
3.
Sunshine 05:03
You Call Yourself Sunshine Refrain: You call yourself sunshine, and maybe it’s true. Well I don’t know how to love sunshine, but I could love you. The trouble with sunshine; It’s hard just to see, And I don’t know how long I’ll be waiting For you to love me. The summer is waning, A chill’s in the air; I’ve had so much sunshine I tell you: I don’t even care. I’ll take the cool mornings, The long autumn a nights, The stars and the moon in the heavens: my favorite sights. R I was born in the winter, The sun far away. The snow coming down and the cold are just Parts of my day. I walk towards springtime When you are returning, My fire in the moonlight, my heart And I keep it burning R

Monsters 04:06
Dracula is waiting by my window Frankenstein is knocking at my door I never thought I’d wander through my life this way But monsters always leave you wanting more I’m riding on the train from New York City The full moon like a plague is beaming down The people here, they keep their faces covered And walk off to their lonesome little towns And me, I’m contemplating how we parted The city streets adorned with autumn’s glow The warmth I feel is burning from the inside A love which simply has no place go Refrain My town is the last one where the train goes I’m coming to the end of the line Perhaps I am the only one who lives here The last man walking in the full moon’s shine The trolls come out from shadows now to watch me As angels scurry past without a sound And I will reach my home, no one to stop me And wait until the demons come around And all of this is true, because I fell in love with you And true love always leaves you wanting more Refrain

Not The Time 04:38
I’d like to take you where the river turns the bend, Where we could sit and look for signs Of all the souls we lost who found there way downstream But maybe now is not the time. I’ve seen the stars at night just bouncing off the lake, And seen the trout jump towards the sky. I didn’t know you then but sure do love you now, But I guess now is not the time. I confess, I never found a way, To show you all the places that my time goes, My time goes… There comes a time when love might change the way you see it; For something real you cross the line. You give the one you love a chance to be a part of you: I guess that now is not that time.

For You 03:13
I'd like to know you better than I do I'd like to hold you, but who am I to you? A man in his place, with love on his face But nothing can help you decide If yo'd like to be by my side. Everything comes to those moments in time Where I find the grace to be out of my mind To see in one person the joy that I hide And I'll never know till I've tried If you could be here by my side So now I must wait And look for my fate And watch you come in and go out But I'd like to know you better than I do So I will just be here for you

Waiting for You I’ve been shown the door I’ve been down on the floor Thought I’d never figure out How to shake that doubt But I had a revelation Or at least a deviation From the way I behaved And though I haven’t been saved I think I found some jubilation in my heart R: Cause I was waiting for you Though I didn’t know who Till you sat down and told me your name I was waiting for you Now I’m gonna make it through And I’m never gonna be the same Yes I’m never gonna be the same I make my own place Give my chidden their space Try to learn how to live Taking less than I give We all reach for our desires Make it better, take it higher But you’re bound to get tired When you walk down that wire And you wonder if you’ll ever reach the other side. R: So I’m waiting for you And I’m hoping its true And I’m making this picture in my mind Yes I’m waiting for you As you come into view Though I know you can’t be sure of what you’ll find Yes I I know you can’t be sure of what you’ll find B: There is no solution Just a gradual evolution So I won’t ask for more I’ll just open the door R: And keep waiting for you Even though I know who I can hardly remember when you came I’ll keep waiting for you With my whole world anew And I’m never gonna be the same Yes I’m never gonna be the same

about

This is a record of the many songs I've written in meters of 3, 6 or 9. Some were written a long while ago. Still others are very new and recent. All arrangements are new, and created through remote collaborations during the pandemic, with members of the band called Threesies, for which the album is dedicated. Enjoy, and please consider supporting my work by purchasing the whole album.
